How to Counter Attack
When the enemy attacks you, you must have a counter attack strategy. That is a plan of action you already have lined up in advance. You know there is a spiritual battle. The enemy will come. That is a given. And the closer you get to a breakthrough, the more desperate the enemy will become. He will show up in the moment right before what you are believing God for manifests. So in the moments of transition, it is vital that you respond and not react. There are two ways to respond to an enemy attack.
1) YOU WORSHIP.
At all cost and regardless of what your emotions say. Worship. If you feel like swearing-Worship Instead. If you feel like fighting–Worship instead. If you feel VIOLATED–Worship INSTEAD. If you feel mistreated–WORSHIP INSTEAD. Worship will reinforce who God is and it will shift your focus from the enemy’s swirls of demonic activity. Worship will create a center in the eye of that storm. Worship is so powerful that it will enlarge the eye of the storm making the peace of God greater than the chaos and drama. The enemy is a bully. But he is limited to the power that you give him. WORSHIP ROBS THE DEVIL OF THE ATTENTION HE IS TRYING TO STEAL FROM GOD BY DIVERTING YOUR FOCUS.
2) YOU GIVE.
The next thing you can do when the enemy attacks is GIVE! Ask Holy Spirit where you are to SOW! Sow when you feel as if you can’t! The way out of any dilemma is always through a seed. That seed is often money, but sometimes it is your time or your talent. Sowing keeps your heart tender towards God and reinforces his role in your life as source and sustainer.
Finally, stop looking at the human and recognize that satan is the enemy of your soul. Your battle is not against people but the spirit operating behind them. The truth of the matter for most people is that they resort to doing what they know. If they grew up with drama and chaos. they have no pattern of life to live other than what they are accustomed to.
When you worship and when you give. You rob the devil of his influence in the present and in the future. And God gets the Glory.
