A few days ago I was watching a deer run across my front yard at breakneck pace. There was a dog chasing the deer. But there really was no competition. As the deer sprinted across my yard he leaped over a soft patch of grass sailing through the air. It was fascinating to me how quickly he moved and how high in the air he went.
As I read this passage from Habakkuk this morning, I thought about that deer. Not only does God give me the courage I need. But he is the bravery I need to overcome any circumstance and to break through to the other side of any difficulty. It is my responsibility to recognize my strength in him. But also I need to recognize his strength in me. God puts inside of me the capacity I need to break through.
Like a weightlifter in a bench press the strength is in me. But I have to push past the opposition and see it move. I am the breakthrough. I am the force. I am the power. Yes it is God‘s power inside of me, but I must realize that I have to make a decision to push past my opposition until it moves.
Even this picture I found with the tiny plant pushing forward through the crack; speaks to the power of pressing forward. As long as the seed of the plant can see the light, it has the nutrients the nourishment and the capacity to grow toward that light pushing up through harden cement and asphalt until a tiny plant opens the ground making the way for a vine to grow.
Over time, the vine will transform the asphalt. It will convert an empty parking lot back into a jungle. All the plant seed needed was access to the light. We are the same way. When we get access to the light of Christ in us, there is nothing that can stop you from penetrating the darkness and transforming that space by the power of God.
So stop and look at what is blocking you today. What is in your way and how are you responding to it? Are you just looking at it standing there thinking, “I should move this?” Or are you taking strategic action, speaking the word only? Are you decreeing the Word into the circumstance and then taking specific actions to see what you say manifest? Are you releasing angelic support into it partnering with the Angels?
I love the fact that this verse ends with instructions to the choir director. My praise and worship is my force! It is a source of my power. It is the key to accessing the presence of God. It is a portal through which the angels pass bringing deliverance, and granting me access to the throne room. I have everything I need to accomplish anything in this earth for the kingdom of God. It is my partnership cry to the spirit realm syncing me up with heaven!
My praises my power supply, when I worship, I am breakthrough!

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!
