Two Questions

 Two Questions

God has an agenda in the earth. Usually, he has no option but to use imperfect and often damaged people to accomplish his ends. Why? Because everyone has various degrees of GOOD and varying degrees of EVIL toiling and boiling in our soul. It is only the grace of God that releases one while keeping the other at bay.
Consider these headlines…
“Accused rapist with no government experience promoted to vice-president”
“Renegade murderer returns to lead mass exodus…”
“Government fails to impeach known murderer, peeping tom and adulterer…”
What if their past had prevented Joseph, Moses, and David from fulfilling their purposes? They and we are fallen. We have all sinned. We have all come up short against the glory of God. By today’s standards, their wrongs should disqualify them. And that is just what the enemy wants. He wants us to think that because of our past, nothing good can come out of our lives. That is a lie. The cross is the tool used by God to transform not only our lives but our potential. The enemy wants to distract us from this reality.

“The cross is the tool used by God to transform not only our lives but our potential.”

In light of this, It is vitally important that we pay attention to a spirit that distracts us from two import questions. Will I support this administration? Will I oppose this administration? In doing so, will I be supporting or opposing God’s agenda? For we must all define our role in offering support or opposition to the current administration, we have to answer these two questions. And we must answer them in light of the WORD of GOD.
Romans 13:1-2 All of you must ·yield [obey; submit; be subject] to the government ·rulers [authorities]. [ Because; For] ·No one rules [ There is no authority] ·unless God has given him the power to rule [except by/through God], and ·no one rules now without that power from God [ those that exist are appointed/established by God]. 2 So those who ·are against the government [rebel/resist the authority] are really ·against [resisting; opposing] what God has ·commanded [ordained; instituted]. And they will bring ·punishment [judgment] on themselves. (The Expanded Bible Translation)
1 Timothy 2:1-4 First of all, then, I ·tell [urge; exhort] you to ·pray for all people, asking God for what they need and being thankful to him [ make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for all people]. 2 Pray for ·rulers [kings] and for all who have authority so that we can have quiet and peaceful lives ·full of worship and respect for God [ in all godliness and dignity/reverence]. 3 This is good, and it ·pleases [is acceptable to] God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to know the truth. (The Expanded Bible Translation)

“Will I support this administration?”

“Will I oppose this administration?”

The Word does not say, support them if they meet your own standard of righteousness. It does not say pray for them if you feel like it or if you like them. The WORD SAYS TO PRAY FOR THEM. So again I ask you, Will you support Donald Trump in prayer? Or will you oppose him?
There is no denying that Donald Trump has experienced his own level of corruption. Money can have that impact on people. But that does not change what the word of God tells us to do. We all come under the influence of various spirits over the course of our lives. Some of them godly some of them ungodly. There are things we do under the influence of the demonic that in that moment we should be held accountable for. That’s what God did for David he held him accountable for the sins that HE committed WHEN he did them.
In addition, he brought a prophet to the forefront to expose David’s sin WHEN he did it. He did not return 20 years later to punish David for sins committed when he was functioning under a different level of wisdom and under the influence of a different Spirit. God is a loyal friend even when his friends fall. He did not turn his back on David. He did not remove David from being King. His Gifts and His callings will not be taken away.
(Romans 11:29 God never changes his mind about the people he calls and the things he gives them [ For God’s gifts and calling are irrevocable].

Consider the Two Questions

I exhort you in this season, Consider these two questions in light of all the news stories. In light of all the negative publicity, in light of all the false (and even the true rumors.) Forget all that. We all must decide to listen to the voice of Holy Spirit. We must choose to advocate for God’s agenda. We must promote divine eternal values, beliefs and thought systems. And we must partner with God in discovering the GIFTS and CALLINGS he deposited into Donald Trump, a fallen and chosen leader; born to benefit our nation and world for this time. We can choose to believe this reality and partner with God in creating it. Or we can oppose it. There is no in between.
Please take care that we distinguish the voice of Holy Spirit in the midst of all the voices. Make sure that as you advocate for beliefs and thought systems that you are also advocating for a kingdom perspective. And let us not forget at the end of all this, It is God’s agenda that must be promoted.
