Two Pillars Please

Two Pillars Please

I have felt bouts of sadness for my America. We were such a great nation that the world looked up to. Our leaders were strong powerful men. Now we have a grandpa puppet. I was just meditating and heard in my heart, “It’s all right to grieve.”

It is alright to feel the loss of our country as we knew it. Sad though it is, God allowed this. And many would say that we have earned this fall from grace. I have always known that there were two paths for America. We have taken a turn for the low. We can only pray that there is room for one more move of God.

We still have time to finish on the high road. We still have time to finish strong. My hope for this United States is not in our goodness or failures as a country. It is in the mercy and faithfulness of God. Perhaps we like Sampson will be given our moment in the arena. Perhaps we will have a chance to stand between two pillars.

Judges 16:26 Then Samson said to the lad who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars which support the temple, so that I can lean on them.” 27) Now the temple was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there—about three thousand men and women on the roof watching while Samson performed.
28) Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” 29) And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left.
30) Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

We can place no confidence in the strength of men but our hope lies in the power, purpose, and plan of God. Regardless of the plots and schemes of men, God still has an agenda. We are still his beloved Body.

WE are still his Church. This nation is filled with believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. This nation is filled with people who love God with all their hearts. We still need God. God still needs us. That being said, grieve if you must. Morn if you must. Cry if you must! Let it go. Get it out of your system. Cause it anit over.

Psalms 2 says,
Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the LORD… Psalms 2:2
Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying…
Psalms 2:3
“Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.” Psalms 2:4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.

Derision means a fierce attack on a ludicrous display of something held in contempt. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy is coming in the morning! God’s agenda trumps every plot, scheme, and plan of the enemy against America. Because we need God, and God still needs America. God still has plans for us. So wipe your face, dry your eyes, stand fast, and see what the laughing God does!
