Clear the air…
“If you tell the truth at all times, you will have clear relationships with everyone. If you do not, things will get out of control very quickly. To get back into the flow of harmony, all you have to do is look to see where you stopped telling the truth to yourself or someone else, and fix it by telling the truth.” – Gay Hendricks
I read this quote today and it made me think. Living in dishonesty…
is like sitting in a meeting with something rotten and stinking and smelly in the air. The table is surrounded with people and yet, nobody says anything about the smell. Everyone present makes small talk filling the air with meaningless chatter while avoiding the very thing that keeps everyone from connecting at a real and meaningful level or focusing on the real issue at hand.
There comes a point where you grow tired of that. We grow weary of relationships where we can’t say what we mean and express feelings that are true and genuine. The feeling of dishonesty between friends is like gas (the human kind) in a room with no open door. Everybody smells it, nobody admits to it and everyone suffers until someone acknowledges it and opens a window!
Truth is so cleansing. Its is like natural air freshener. When someones fires a gas bomb that turns the air around you green and you feel as if you will pass out if you take a deep breath. The smell is foul and breathing is excruciating. Then someone comes along and clears the air with truth.
The cloud of funk is blown out like a swift breeze passing through two open windows on opposite ends of a room. And everyone can breath a true sigh of relief. All because truth came in and dishonesty was blown out. Truth cleared the air. Truth revealed everything present and cleared the space of that which was foul.
Truth, the natural air freshener. Spray some today, because someone you know has been holding their breath for way too long!
I’m jus sayin’
