Believe:
To accept as true or real.
To expect or suppose; think.
This world can be so confusing. And because of that, sometimes we don’t know what to believe. Our time is fraught with deception, untruths, and out right lies. So what do you believe? What becomes the anchor of your belief system? It’s important that you answer this question. Because Whatever you believe to be true, whether it is true or not, if you believe it, then to you, it becomes the truth.
This is the reason why we must choose carefully the things we place our belief in. Belief to varying degrees creates what we accept as true and real. Belief forms our conviction and creates our confidence. Belief is the building block of all expectation.
When you are in doubt about what you believe, your imagination does not know what it is supposed to create. Your thoughts don’t know what to build in the fortress of your mind. This is why you need the Word of God to activate faith which is the material substance required to make any hope a reality.
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
This passage helps us understand that if we want to have the required faith to create anything we must HEAR the word of God in order to BELIEVE the word of God. Without hearing it there is no belief. Furthermore, when we hear things that are inconsistent with the truth of the word of God, it creates a mental breakdown in our belief system. Thereby making it very difficult if not impossible to create out of faith. So the answer is to deal with our imaginations. We have to bring them into agreement with the word of God. We have to tear down anything out of our imaginations and thought systems that disagree with the word of God. The passion translation says it this way.
We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. 2 Corinthians 10:5 TPT
Belief supplies us with a divine confidence as long as it is rooted in the truth. Therefore, if you find yourself troubled about what to believe, start with believing the word of God. It will validate the existence of all other truths. It will weed out deception. And it will expose lies. It will help you see, hear, and know what is real and true. And it will ignite your faith.
