It’s been a long thoughtful day. I want to encourage someone who has been in a long-standing battle. God loves your attacker as much as he loves you. He cares about their heart’s change as much as he cared about your heart changing. He is LOVE towards all of us.
Sometimes in his mercy, he gives your attacker, abuser, hater, opposition, what and whoever they are the time to change. He is merciful so they don’t have to eat the fruit and reap the harvest they have sown. God is so good. And he is also good to you, he won’t let you go through more than you can bear. And as hard as it is to go through, in the end, if you are honest, it is not in your heart to see people suffer.
Some of the fruit is awful. I recall, a dear friend saying how evil her ex-spouse had been to her. Destroying her belongings, physical/verbal abuse, taking her money, and a whole litany of other cruelties even after she left him. In the end, he died a slow and painful death due to lung cancer. But really it was the hate that killed him.
Sadly this process took years. God was patient. And my friend learned to be patient and merciful in the process. God desires that we all be changed into His image. That is our option. Unfortunately not all do. Pharoh could have changed. Hayman could have changed. Judas could have changed. They all chose not to.
The people they victimized suffered. Some even lost their lives. Others went through the difficulty and came out on the other side. So allow yourself to grow through the difficulty, yes it is hard, but the person you become in the process is priceless in the eyes of God. Let the Father spend all of the mercy he has allocated to your opposition. They are worth it to HIM.
While you are waiting, here is a promise to hold in your heart.
Isaiah 61:7) For your shame ye shall have double, and for confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. 😎 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
