STOP DIS – A New Definition of Dissin’

STOP ‘DIS’  –   PART 1

STOP DIS. DIS to most people is African American slang for disrespect or being dismissed as less important a person. But it is more than that. The enemy does not want you to understand the power of this prefix. DIS means to separate from, to move in opposition to, to put asunder. So to disrespect is to separate you from the respect God assigns to your life.

To DIS – appoint is to separate you from the understanding that, in God, there is a time and a season for everything God has promised you. Just because it didn’t happen now, does not mean it is never going to happen.

Job 23:14 For he performs the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him. KJV

Eccl 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: KJV

To DIS – illusion is to remove the inner image in your heart of what God promised you so you will scale back your dreams and quit.

To DIS – courage is to rob your heart of courage so you will “feel” like giving up. You will be afraid to try again. You will see your self as incapable of stepping out on faith. So what do you do? How do you stop DIS? Here is part 1 of Stop ‘DIS’

STOP DIS PART 2

You were created to overcome.
You are supposed to be a conqueror.

The challenge comes when we hit obstacles and opposition. We are tempted to quit because we are DIS – courag-ed, DIS-illusion-ed or DIS-appointed. God wants us to know that there are strategies to help us rise above the difficulties and overcome what seems to be failure at times. Just because it does not happen when and how we plan, does not mean that God has relinquished our assignment. Nor does it mean that he has changed his mind. Not now doesn’t mean never. Delayed does not mean denied.

Ultimately you are destined to become more than a conqueror. But what does that mean? What does it look like? More importantly, how do you do it?
