My Story about the need to Test Spirits

A good habit to develop is to test spirits you OR YOUR LEADERS, family, friends etc. are operating under. To do something that is difficult and confrontational such as exposing kingdom sin and error; you and I need to be sure we are operating under the influence of Holy Spirit (the Spirit that was sent by Jesus Christ who came in the flesh) and not our own hurt feelings. We cannot operate out of our emotions in these matters where souls literally may hang in the balance.
About a year ago, a friend sent me an article about 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21. It describes how to test spirits we are operating under. I began to study this passage in depth. The revelation was very freeing as I began to put this practice into action in my everyday walk with God. Much of the church is deceived by spirits operating “like Holy Spirit” but they are not HIM. (DEMONS CAN PRAY IN TONGUES TOO) This passage offers a simple test to examine the source of every spiritual gift, word, manifestation, attitude, etc.
Simply adhere to this scripture... “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” 1 John 4: 1-3
AGAIN… Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist.
“And he said, take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name …” Luke 21:8 “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

How to Test Spirits
The test is simple. In the midst of a discussion, or after a word, stop the conversation and just DECREE “Holy Spirit identify the source of this manifestation, word, prophecy, etc. then have them confess “I decree that this conversation, word, sermon, etc. comes from you holy spirit of GOD and WE RECOGNIZE YOU BY CONFESSING THAT JESUS CHRIST IS COME IN THE FLESH FROM GOD. WE CONFESS YOUR LORDSHIP HOLY SPIRIT by confessing Jesus Christ is Lord.
You should ask your leaders to make this deceleration. You will be surprised by how many “christians, leaders, etc cannot.
DEMONIC SPIRITS SENT TO DECEIVE YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS DECLARATION. THEY CANNOT ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS CHRIST AS LORD BY CONFESSING THAT JESUS CAME IN THE FLESH. I saw this happen once in a heated discussion. I stopped and said, lets bring this conversation under the lordship of Jesus Christ. lets decree that Jesus Christ is lord. THAT PERSON COULD NOT SAY THOSE WORDS OUT OF THEIR MOUTH. THAT IS WHEN I KNEW I WAS ARGUING WITH A DEMON.
We have to get in the habit of TESTING the spirit those who are leading us are operating under. Every good sermon is not flowing from the spirit of God. We can test or try every spirit by getting the spirit that brought a sermon, or word or dream any kind of spiritual manifestation to identify its source by getting that person to confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ that came in the flesh, died on the cross is Lord.
A WORD TO THE WISE. TRY AND TEST THE SPIRIT YOUR LEADERS ARE OPERATING UNDER. THE SOURCE OF THE SPIRIT IN THEM MAY JUST SURPRISE YOU…
